“Turn your Inertia into Euporia” a tagline that I would know something about !
If there is one thing I have learnt is that keeping hydrated days before, during and after a long run or race, is essential to pushing your boundaries and stepping out of your comfort zone. The education of sports and fitness is something that even I am still learning about from my days in running in the Singapore National Track & Field, except nowadays a little less competitive and more about my own personal best timings.
To be honest, running is a lot like driving, except I brave up to 50 degrees in the car, so making sure that I am hydrated with the proper salts and minerals, is essential to keep me from suffering from heat exhaustion and major dehydration. The first item I grab before a race and more importantly after, is everyone’s favourite brand of carbonated isotonic sports : 100 plus.
To aid me in racing, I do a lot of cardio, meaning a lot of endurance running in the sun, which ultimately helps me when I am in a one hour race. Watching the video, that focus to wake up , step out the door and that sense of completion after any run, is exactly the motions we all go through as runners.
