8th November 2025 – My second time at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship, this time held in Marbella, Spain in the little sea side town of Championship la Costa del Sol. This race was a qualification only.I had qualified earlier that year in Desaru once again. I completed the race in under 7 hours. This course was probably the hardest of all course as the cycling was 1600m of climbing compared to the usual 400-600m. It was worth every minute.
I was originally planned to be travelling with my husband Yuey Tan, but one week prior he was in a pretty bad cycling accident when a dog ran out in to the road. I left him at the hospital and told him, ” See you in 12 days.”
Mentally, after a fairly stressful week after Yuey’s accident, I was somehow completely relaxed and decided to race my own pace and just enjoy the views and experience. It did not disappoint. what a vibe Marbella was. I even had one pre race alcoholic drink. WHO AM I? Good food, views and shopping.
I think this will be perhaps the last time that I will try qualify for a World Championship, mainly because it does cost a lot of money for tickets, memorabilia ( haha), accommodation and signing up. I probably spend up to $15,000 per race.
Below are some photos of my trip!

I flew in on a Tuesday and stayed in a beautiful villa with friends Rachel, Sian , James , and his family. James was meant to be competing but unfortunately he fractured his foot just prior. Devastated.
Naturally like every eager over spending person at the event, I bought lots of gear.
