After a 3rd place qualifying on Saturday’s Round 8 race behind Class B drivers, Alif Hamdan and Mentos Man Egidio Perfetti , Yuey Tan with DORR McElrea Racing Team had a seemingly uneventful race after being hit in turn 10 of the first lap. Coming out from behind Adderley Fong, Li Chao passed through and hit in to Yuey Tan.

Looking through the fence grates eagerly,  car by car passed by with out Tan in sight.  No one knew what had happened and I assumed perhaps he spun off. Nursing back a damaged left side door, luckily no major chassis damage was made. Coming from the back of the pack, Tan fought hard to make it up to 5th position, taking home crucial points.

With a great job by the mechanics and engineer patching up the car and getting back into alignment, it was a team effort and Sunday’s Round 9 ended with a 3rd place podium win through the chequered flag!
