The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) season finale is coming down the straights to reveal who the championship winners are for 2013.
In the news , the PCCA welcomes to the scene Sebastian Loeb, who competed or the Citroën World Rally Team in the World Rally Championship and is the most successful driver in WRC history, having won the world championship a record nine times in a row.
“Shanghai, China. Porsche China, organisers of the region’s premier sportscar championship the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, today announced nine-time FIA World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb will make his debut with the series at the end-of-season invitational at the Macau Grand Prix.”
Tragedy gripped the motor sport scene today with the seasons loss of a second guest driver Sean Edwards within a couple of months of Allan Simonsen. Son of the former F1 driver Guy Edwards, who pulled Niki Lauda out of the burning Ferrari, in a 1976 Nurburgring crash, he was killed instantly when the car he was a passenger in on the Queensland raceway, hit side on into a wall, bursting into flames, taking recovery almost 3 hours to extract the young Australian driver , who is now in intensive care.
Sean was to drive in the season Shanghai finale.
Earlier this season, Allan Simonsen lost his life in the Aston Martin car, crashing into the barrier during the 24 hour Le Mans. Condolences to both the families and friends.
