Held at the audi shanghai International Circuit, with a program to bump up from 3rd in championship to second, the plan was to cruise and collect , while staying ahead of competitor Li Chao, who was currently in Yuey Tan’s prized spot. With a punctured tyre, set-up was mildly hindered, but with no later problems.
Day 1 brought Yuey Tan back in to the pits in fourth position. The pressure off temporarily when Li Chao was handed out a punishment , causing him to start both the races form pit lane.After the first day, Yuey was now 7 points ahead of Li Chao, but the goal remained realistic and as we all know, anything can happen in the world of Motorsport.
A good night sleep and a later start, gave Yuey the chance to push on, passing Francis Tjia, who had made a mistake not far from the end. The usual suspect in class to lead the group, Mentos Man Egidio Perfetti, fell back sharply and finally retired 2 laps from the chequered flag, breaking too hard on a couple of turns, leaving a flat spot to become a puncture. This left Alif Hamdan from Malaysia with an ear to ear grin, pulling in to first place, with Yuey Tan second and Francis Tjia third.
With a new tally of points, DORR McElrea Racing team made it a great end of the year, with big thanks to EKS and the staff form the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. The season is sadly coming to a close with one more high point: The Macau 60th Grand Prix starting the second week of Novemeber!
