Ready to run away from the city that never sleeps? Then the answer could only be 80km away across the border, set in the Malaysian countryside.
The Riders Lodge next to the The Legends Golf and Resort, is a sight to behold as you drive up the winding kilometre plus driveway. As you enter the main drive way, you feel like you have driven into a Kentucky, American styled ranch, except, should you forget , you are in the middle of Asia. Ever wondered what it was like to horse ride? Well now is your chance with no club fees (unlike Singapore, where you need the expandable wallet), to act upon that childhood dream.
Sitting in the Agnes Cafe, on the sprawling grounds , I envisioned colonial tea parties with the Australian and British men in their khaki wear while their wives sat chatting away in the tropical heat. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, the cafe food is great, homemade and extremely reasonable, especially since the Malaysian dollar is down, make full use of the occasion! If horse riding is not your thing, grab your book and lounge on the deck chairs provided on the lawn. I promise you a relaxed day away from the city life, and if you feel up to it, stay for the weekend!
